GHK and GHK-Cu: identify the chemical form

GHK, GHK-Cu and GHKCU: distinguish the free peptide, copper complex and documentation that should accompany a research reference.

Similar names do not always identify the same form

GHK denotes the glycyl-histidyl-lysine sequence. GHK-Cu, also written GHKCU in some searches, denotes a copper complex. The metal and chemical representation matter when comparing references.

Do not copy the free peptide’s molecular weight into a copper-complex specification. PubChem’s “Prezatide copper” record, CID 71587328, describes a particular charged species. That representation alone does not establish the counterions, water or composition of a commercial powder.

What to request for a batch

  • The name and identifier of the documented chemical form.
  • The salt or counterion, when specified.
  • The batch identity method and result.
  • The quantity measured: chromatographic purity, peptide content or another result.

The review by Pickart and colleagues provides context on GHK and its complexes. It does not certify a supplier or a Velia Labs batch. A publication about a molecule is not a COA for delivered material.

Color and analytical evidence

A visual observation may be recorded on receipt, but it does not replace identity, composition or purity testing. Do not infer concentration, quality or experimental suitability from the lyophilisate’s color alone.

Our GHK-Cu product page describes the available formats and documentation status. The material is reserved for laboratory research, not cosmetic, human or veterinary use.
