Velia Labs places great value on protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website, how we process it and what rights you can exercise. It applies to all visitors and customers of velialabs.com.
1. Data we collect
We collect the information you provide directly when you create an account, place an order or contact us: name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number and order history. If you accept analytics cookies, we also collect pages viewed, products and variants viewed or added to cart, checkout steps, payment method, amounts and limited technical data. We do not send form values, email, name or address to the analytics service.
2. How we use your data
Your data is used to process and ship your orders, manage your account, respond to your requests, prevent fraud and continuously improve the experience offered on the site. With your consent, we may also send you communications about our research-use-only products. We never sell your data to third parties for commercial purposes.
3. Legal basis for processing
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we only process your data where a legal basis justifies it: the performance of the sales contract, compliance with our legal and accounting obligations, your explicit consent for marketing communications, and our legitimate interest in securing and improving our services. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
Our site uses strictly necessary storage to operate the cart, session and language preference. Only with your consent, PostHog EU Cloud measures traffic and the purchase funnel using a pseudonymous identifier; when you are signed in, only the technical account identifier is used. Browser autocapture, session replay, heatmaps, form values and automatic browser exception collection are disabled. You may decline or withdraw consent at any time through “Cookie settings”; this does not affect core site features.
Sign-in and email preferences
You may create an account without an order after verifying the code sent to your email by Resend. Requesting a code alone does not create an account or a marketing subscription. Subscribing to news and offers is optional and separate from sign-in. We retain your choice, its date, source, language and the accepted wording version. You may withdraw consent in your account email preferences without losing access to sign-in and order emails.
5. Third-party providers and recipients
To deliver our services, we rely on trusted providers, including secure payment solutions, carriers, hosting tools and PostHog EU Cloud for consented analytics. This project’s PostHog data is hosted in the European region. These partners only access the data needed for their task and are required to protect it. Where another service requires a transfer outside the European Economic Area, we put in place the safeguards required by the GDPR.
6. Your rights
You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict and object to the processing of your data, as well as the right to data portability. You may also set instructions regarding the retention of your data after your death. To exercise these rights, write to us at contact@velialabs.com; we respond within the legal one-month period. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
7. Retention and contact
We keep your data for as long as needed for the purposes described and to meet our legal obligations, after which we delete or anonymise it.
